Goals for the week:

To use place value to add and subtract within 100

To add and subtract money to $1.00.

To use skip counting and repeated addition to solve multiplication type problems

To tell time to the hour and ½ hour.

To review all the phonics rules we have been learning so far.

Word study words this week.  Review all units

To continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.

To self edit our writing using our writer’s eye.

To listen and respond to Fishy Stories: Enzo the Wonderfish and Swimmy,

To learn about fish and sharks.

To read fiction and nonfiction stories on fish.

To compare and contrast 2 nonfiction texts about fish.

To identify nonfiction text features.

To identify structure in a story.

To use story elements to retell a story.

To write an opinion of our favorite book from this year.

To tell our second grade teacher about us, by writing her a letter.

To summarize a story.

To practice reading with fluency.

Wednesday May 31^st, field day!  Wear your color for the color games.  Wear sneakers and sunscreen if you need it.

Monday , June 5, staff and student kick ball bring a beach towel and School wide Reading  Day: Bring in 2 or 3 of your favorite books from home  and a beach towel to sit on.

Wednesday , June 7 ^h –  Puzzle Day: Bring in a puzzle from home.  We will work with other students to see how many puzzles we can complete.

Thursday, June 8 ^th – Board Game day send in an easy game for playing without too many small pieces

Friday:  June 9^th-Dress for cleaning!!  We will be washing desks and wiping down the shelves. Then a little last minute recess!
