Goals for the week:

To review all short vowel sounds.

To review unit 1-13 in project read and word study words.

To continue to work on diagraphs, (sh. Ch, th, wh) and blends (fl.gl,cl, sl,sw,squ, br,fr, etc.).

To identify and practice when to use exclamation points in a sentence.

To learn more about shapes by identifying halves and quarters/fourths.

To identify and compose 3 d shapes.

To continue to work with addition and subtraction  facts to 10.

To identify and use descriptive words.

To review sounds and write lowercase diver letters (r, n, m, p, and h).

To identify fantasy and realism in a story.

To identify beginning, middle and end in story.

To identify details in a story.

To retell a story using detail.

To review all blends from unit 13.

To read and write words with short u.

To compare and contrast a fiction and non-fiction text.

To learn about Winter Holidays and how lights are used to celebrate.

To discuss the signs that winter is coming.

To listen and respond to Time for Bed, Little Bear. 

To persuade little bear to stay awake this winter by writing him a letter.

To complete our unit on insects and life cycles.

 

Homework :

Monday night: Literacy activity from the Reado board and Practice reading with fluency

Tuesday: Study math facts

Wednesday:  Fluency Folder, practice reading with fluency

Thursday: study word study words using your spelling menu

 Request and Reminders:

Look for a permission form for our upcoming field trip to the Nutcracker at Henderson High School to come home this week.

To solve addition and subtraction problems using strategies we have learned.

To identify and classify plane and 3 d shapes.

To read and write words using short vowels a, i, o and e.

To identify details and sequence in a story.

To retell a story using details and correct sequence.

To identify story elements.(character, setting, plot, main idea)

To continue to practice reading and writing words including diagraphs “the h brothers”  ch, wh, th, sh.

Homework :  All WEEK: Practice reading your line for our Reader’s theatre  on Wednesday!

Monday : Complete an activity on your READO board

Tuesday: Study math facts +/-1, +/-2, +/-3, +/-4.

Wednesday : Fluency Folder  Come today for American Education Week!!  2:25-3:00

Thursday:  Study word study words using your spelling menu .

Friday: Book Fair Money, return turkey sent home last Friday.

Request and Reminders:  You can return reading logs at any time when they are completed.  I will send a pizza slip and a new reading log for you.  You may also send for a new Reado  when you finish all squares.  Both can also be found on my website under Documents and files tab.
