Goals for the week:

To review all short vowel sounds.

To continue to work with subtraction stories and real world subtraction problems.

To show our thinking and strategies when solving subtraction.

To use the take away, count on, count back, and number bond strategies.

To begin see related math facts and create fact families.

To review sounds and write lowercase  letters

To identify beginning, middle, and end of a story.

To identify cause and effect in a story.

To identify sequence in a story.

To retell a story.

To identify story elements.(character, setting, plot, main idea)

To identify the differences in fiction and non-fiction texts.

To read and spell words with the short vowel e.

 Word study words this week:  Unit 12 well, men, get, tell, set, let, when, them, then, would, could, should.

Word study words to know: am, at, cat, sat, bat, fat, as, has, can, an, man, had, van, sad, to, bad, rag, big, is, did, if, it, his pack , sick, tack, back, kid, cab, sack, pack, its, him, quit, six, fix, wax, on got, not, was, box, job. off, will, miss, you, fizz, pass, long, ring, pink, what, bank, sang, inch, ship, are, put, whiff, chill, that, thing, with, this, dish, thank.

Red words to know: the, to, have, said, of, was. You, what, are, put,

To continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.

To listen and respond to stories about Fall and scarecrows.

To use our senses to describe Fall.

To identify character traits in characters and to create characters with character traits.

To compare and contrast stories and characters across stories

To record and observe all our insects.

To identify the characteristics of insects.

To learn more about Election Day .

 

Homework :

Monday night: Complete a Reado activity

Tuesday:  No School

Wednesday night:  Fluency Folder

Thursday :  Study your word study words

Friday: Wear red white and blue for Veteran's Day today.

Request and Reminders:  You can return reading logs at any time when they are completed.  I will send a pizza slip and a new reading log for you.  You may also send for a new Reado  when you finish all squares.  Both can also be found on my website under Documents and files tab.
