To enjoy some wonderful holiday concerts with performances by our 3-5th grade.
To enjoy some holiday stories, read by our 5th grade students.
To continue to focus on the differences between Fiction and Non-Fiction stories.
To continue to learn about story elements that help us retell fiction.
To continue to enjoy and retell gingerbread stories.
To review all the rules we have learned so far in units 1-15. 
To listen to The Polar Express and to have fun at our own Polar Express.
To write a narrative about what we would do if we were Elves.
To identify character traits and use them in our Elf writing.
To make gifts for special people.
To learn more about holidays celebrated around the world.
To write a holiday “How To”,
To identify and use ordinal numbers and positions.
To identify and represent numbers from 1-20 .
To use place value to compare numbers 1-20.
Homework:
Color Block Monday (12/17): Wear your favorite holiday colors
Jingle Bell Tuesday (12/18): Wear holiday accessories (necklaces, hats, socks)
Winter Wonderland Wednesday (12/19): Wear your favorite cozy flannel shirt
Merry Morning Thursday (12/20): Wake up and come to school in your Pajama's  Polar Express is today!
Festive Friday (12/21): Come to school in your favorite holiday shirt/sweater. Class party today for students
We will send math and fluency folders in case you want to practice skills over break.  There is no homework.
