Goals for the
week:
To continue
to work with place value.
To
review alll the phonics rules we have been learning so far.
Word study words to know: Unit 1- 30 all
Word study words this week. review
To
continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.
To
self edit our writing using our writer’s eye.
To
listen and respond to Swimmy.
To
listen and respond to A House for a Hermit Crab.
To
listen to nonfiction stories about undersea life.
To
identify structure in a story.
To
practice reading and using contractions.
To
practice reading with fluency.
To
appreciate our Dads while preparing for Father’s Day.
To
remember all the fun we had in first grade.
To
make a book all about us!
Special First Grade Days coming next week:
Monday , June 8, staff and student kick ball bring a beach towel
Tuesday, June 9th- school wide reward for champion
chips! Shaved ice for everyone (we
hope!)
Wednesday June 10- School
wide Reading Day: Bring in 2 or 3 of
your favorite books from home and a
beach towel to sit on.
Thursday, June 11th
– Movie Day : You do not need to bring in anything for this day.
Friday , June 12th
– Puzzle Day: Bring in a puzzle from
home. We will work with other students
to see how many puzzles we can complete.
End of year party at
10 on the playground (parents do not need to attend)
Monday, June 15th
– Board Game day send in an easy
game for playing without too many small pieces
Tuesday, June 16th-Dress for cleaning!! We will be washing desks and wiping down the
shelves. Then a little last minute recess!
