Tuesday:  math fact fluency practice (paper will be sent home with your child’s practice set)

Dr. Seuss Week!


Class events to celebrate Dr. Seuss!
Monday: Bring in your favorite Dr. Seuss Book

Tuesday:  Character interview list sent home today.  Please choose up to 3 questions from the list or come up with your own questions.  

Wednesday: Choose a character and answer your interview questions the way you think your character would answer them.  Write the questions on an index card to be used by another student who will interview you on Friday.

Thursday: prepare your costume and send your interview questions to school on index card.

Friday:  Dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character  and prepare to be interviewed by a friend.

To label talking vowels, to sort words by # of syllables.
To divide words into syllables and to create words using more than one syllable

Tuesday: practice math facts  (is your child using what they know about addition to do subtraction?)  Practice fact families!!
Wednesday: Write in your 100 things about me book.
Thursday:  study all word study words.  Ask your child about how to split elephant words. Use spelling menu.

Request and Reminders:
* Empty folders as much as possible each night.  Read every night! 
*With less than 20 days till the 100th day of school I am expecting more from the children. Second grade is right around the corner!  If your child is not completing work in class I will send home to be completed for homework.  If it is not completed at home they will complete during recess the following day.
*Neatness is also expected.  Please encourage this in homework as well.
 Please ask your child what supplies they need .  I know many seem to need pencils and glue.
