Goals for the week:

To review all short and long vowel sounds.

To use the double and double plus one strategy.

To make a group of 10 to add and subtract.

To be fluent in ways to make 10.

To subtract a 1 digit number from a 2 digit number.

To add and subtract one and two digit numbers and use adding and subtracting in problem solving.

To begin a new chapter on measurement.

To identify asking, telling, and exclamatory sentences.

To review all the phonics rules we have been learning so far.

To use period, question marks and exclamation points.

To identify and use descriptive words.

To know that an open syllable has a long vowel.

To continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.

To continue to read non-fiction books about Abe Lincoln and George Washington.

To compare and contrast 2 non-fiction texts

To identify text features of non-fiction texts.

To use a timeline to put events into sequence.

To listen and respond to books about teeth.

To compare and contrast fiction and non-fiction texts

To continue to experiment and study pebbles sand and silt.

To learn about dental health and how to care for our teeth.

Homework

Monday:  Finish your READO and then start with the WRITE board.

Tuesday:  Study your math facts .

Wednesday:  Fluency folder

Thursday:  Study your word study words.

Friday:  Field Trip today!  Pack a lunch in a paper bag. 

 

 

 I am including next week’s homework for planning

Monday:  Bring your favorite Dr. Seuss Book. Wear mixed up clothes

Tuesday:  Think about a character you would like to dress as (on Thursday) and look at the list of interview questions that come home today.  Try to come up with at least 1 question( and answer)that your character could give if interviewed.

Wednesday:  Work on your costume and interview question and answer

Thursday: Dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss Character.  Bring a list of at least 1 question that someone may use to interview you.  Please be ready with answers to the questions. ( For example:  if you are the Lorax a question might be what is your passion in life, answer may be my passion is the environment and standing up for the trees)
