Goals for the week:

To add and subtract by grouping into 10 and ones.

To add using double facts and double plus 1.

To learn a poem to help us remember the doubles facts.

To add using the doubles facts plus one.

To subtract a one digit number from a 2 digit number.

To review all short vowel sounds.

To identify long vowel sounds.

To practice reading and building words with more than one syllable.

To learn about the bossy r and to read and write works that have an r controlled vowel.

To identify asking, telling, and exclamatory sentences.

To review all the phonics rules we have been learning so far.

To use period, question marks and exclamation points.

To continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.

To edit and revise our writing.

To make a Valentine bag to store our Valentine’s.

To enjoy some Valentine stories.

To continue studying our pebble, sand and silt unit.

To listen to books about the presidents.   We will focus on Nonfiction texts and features.

To read biographies of others and to complete our friend biography using technology.

To write a Non-Fiction piece including a topic sentence, facts in sequential order and a closing sentence.

To practice reading with fluency.

To Learn More about Abe Lincoln and George Washington.

To discuss The Presidents of the United States and learn more about our country.

To write about what we would like to do as President.

Tuesday: Bring your Valentines today!   study your math facts

Wednesday:  fluency folder

Thursday: study word study words (all bossy r words from the last 3 weeks).

Friday:   half day today
