Goals for this week:

To identify numbers and number words from 1-20

To count on from 10-20.

To use a place value chart to show numbers up to 20.

To show objects up to 20 using tens and ones..

To compare numbers to 20

To read and write words with all short vowels.

To review and write the diver lowercase letters r, n, m, p, h, b .

To learn that –tch comes at the end of a short vowel one syllable word and to practice the exceptions to the rule.

 To continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.

To compare and contrast two non- fiction texts

To read biographies of Marin Luther King Jr. and Ruby Bridges.

To do research on Ruby Bridges using the laptops.

To complete a research report using technology.

To identify character traits of Ruby Bridges.

To learn about text features.

To compare and contrast non-fiction texts on the same and different topics.

To compare and contrast characters.

To identify genres

To use and understand higher numbers using place value.

To use describing words to write about hot chocolate.

To use describing words to write poetry about snow.

To practice reading with fluency.

To write an informational paper on Martin Luther King Jr and Ruby Bridges.

To continue to learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and to continue to discuss the importance of treating others with respect.
