Goals for this week:

To use the make a 10 strategy for adding and subtracting to 20.

To use the double and doubles plus 1 strategy for adding and subtracting to 20.

To continue to practice our strategies for adding subtracting in small groups.

To begin a new unit on measurement.

To compare items by size.

To use a start line when measuring.

To read and write words with all short vowels.

To review and write the diver lowercase letters r, n, m, p, h, b .

To learn that –tch comes at the end of a short vowel one syllable word and to practice the exceptions to the rule.

To compare and contrast fictions stories by story elements.

To identify the elements that make up a  fiction story.

To use story elements to help us to retell stories.

To compare and contrast characters.

To practice reading with fluency.

To continue to learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and to continue to discuss the importance of treating others with respect.
