Goals for the week:

Word study words this week: To learn the rules for adding –ing to a word:  stop, skate, hop, hope, bake, pop, take, play.

To double the final consonant when adding ing to a short vowel word.

To drop the e when adding -ing to a magic e word

Next week’s words:  better, begin, paper, dinner, ever, over, after, until, began, being.

To review the syllable division pattern vc/cv and to learn the v/cv pattern.

To continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.

To self edit our writing using our writer’s eye.

To welcome Spring!  (we hopeJ)

To listen and respond to Spring stories.

To compare and contrast fiction and non-fiction stories.

To study characters in stories and notice character traits and how they change over time.

To practice reading with fluency.

To observe changes in our insects.
