Goals for the week:

To review all short vowel sounds.

To know that each syllable or word part has a talking vowel.

To label talking vowels, to sort words by # of syllables.

To continue to learn about r controlled vowels (bossy r).

To divide words into syllables and to create words using more than one syllable

To add by making 10.

To review our addition and subtraction strategies.

To add and subtract using real world problems.

To review number bonds.

To use place value to help us add and subtract.

To begin a new math chapter on measurement.

To identify asking, telling, and exclamatory sentences.

To review all the phonics rules we have been learning so far.

To use period, question marks and exclamation points.

To identify and use descriptive words.

To read more biographies and to write a biography about a friend.

To discuss ways to be kind and show others we care for them.

To compare and contrast nonfiction texts.

To write about a topic giving facts and using a closing sentence.

To use revision techniques to improve our writing.

To listen and respond to Valentine stories.

To learn more about Insects
