Goals for the week:

To review all short vowel sounds and to identify long vowel sounds.

To continue to work on addition and subtraction facts and number bonds.

To identify characteristics of both plane and solid shapes.

To compare and compose plane and solid shapes.

To identify, extend, and create shape patterns using plane and solid shapes.

To identify telling, asking, and exclamatory sentences and the punctuation that goes with them.

To identify and use descriptive words.

To identify sequence of events and retell a story.

To identify rhyming words in a story.

To identify details in a story.

To compare and contrast fiction and nonfiction stories.

To identify text features.

To know that a syllable has one talking vowel.

To identify where to split a word that has more than one syllable (an elephant word).

Homework :

Monday night:  Complete an activity on your Reado board. (you can download a new one on the website if necessary)

Tuesday: Study math facts using strategy sent home today on worksheet.

 Wednesday: Holiday shop today!  Don’t forget money if you want to shop.

Thursday:   study word study words using your spelling menu

Friday:  Nutcracker permission slip must by in by today!
