Goals for the week:

To continue problem solving and addition and subtraction.

To use fact families to help us to add and subtract.

To use doubles to help us to add and subtract.

To work on Fact Fluency

To review all short and long vowels.

To learn more about the letter y and the different sounds it makes.

To hear and identify syllables and to continue splitting words using the correct cutting pattern.

To review all the phonics rules we have been learning so far.

To identify compound words.

To identify and use contractions.

To write using colorful verbs and describing words.

To self edit and revise our writing using our writer’s eye.

To listen to Stories about the rain and weather both fiction and non fiction.

To identify story structure.

To identify sequence in a story.

To make predictions.

To learn about spring, rain and the water cycle.

To practice reading with fluency.

To read and write poetry as part of National Poetry Month.

To continue to learn about Pebbles, sand, and silt.  This week we will investigate clay.

Tuesday:  Study Math facts especially subtraction!!
