Goals for
the week:
To
continue counting coins.
To
count by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s.
To
use skip counting to solve multiplication type problem solving
To
use place value.
To
tell time to the hour and ½ hour.
To
learn more about vowel pairs.
To
continue to practice long vowel rules.
To
know there are rules to follow when dividing a word into syllables.
To
review alll the phonics rules we have been learning so far.
Word study words this week. Review all units
To
continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.
To
self edit our writing using our writer’s eye.
To
listen and respond to more Fishy Stories: Enzo the Wonderfish and Swimmy,
To
learn about fish and sharks.
To
identify structure in a story.
To
use action words ending in ed and ing.
To
summarize a story.
To
practice reading with fluency.
Homework :
Monday: read a book outside!
Tuesday: Math facts
subtraction practice and math page from investigations book.
Wednesday: Assessment binder
will come home today for the last time. Please sign and return!! Do not remove papers, I will keep the assessments and send the
binder home again empty.
100 things about me book will
also come home today. You may keep that
at home for writing practice over the summer.
Thursday: Please neatly
complete the book review sent home Monday for the June Bulletin board. Choose a favorite story from home or school
that you would like to recommend to a friend.
Please send in the book with the review if it is not one we read in
class.

Tuesday, June 10, staff and student kick ball bring a beach towel
Wednesday, June 11,
Volunteer appreciation Breakfast for ANYONE who helped in any way at 8 in the
library.
Thursday, June 12th
– Movie Day : You do not need to bring in anything for this day.
Friday , June 13th
–School wide Reading Day: Bring in 2 or 3 of your favorite
books from home and a beach towel to sit
on.
Monday, June 16th
– Puzzle Day: Bring in a puzzle from
home. We will work with other students
from another class to complete them.
Let’s see how many puzzles first grade can finish!
Tuesday, June 17th- Board Game day send in an
easy game for playing without too many small pieces.
Wednesday, June 18th-
Dress for cleaning!! We will be washing
desks and wiping down the shelves. Then a little last minute recess!
Look for your child
to bring home an End of Year video, My gift to them for a great year! You won’t want to miss it!
