Thank you for all the kind notes and tokens of appreciation last week!  I just loved the door decorations and the great coffee cup from the class!  I am looking forward to many Lattes from Dunkin’ to get me through to June 20!! 

Goals for the week:

To hear and identify all short and long vowel sounds.

To learn more about vowel pairs.

To practice r controlled vowels, open and closed syllables, and magic e.

To review all the phonics rules we have been learning so far.

To self edit our writing using our writer’s eye.

To listen and respond to Something from Nothing.

To listen and respond to One of Three.

To read and write about families.

To begin to write personal narratives using our “small moments”

To identify sequence in a story.

To use action words ending in ed and ing.

To practice reading with fluency.

To continue our study of Plants. 

Homework :    Field Trip Permission Form

Monday: read and respond to a story in writing.

Tuesday: study math facts

Wednesday: 100 things about me book.  Please be sure you have a topic sentence and at least 2 details along with a concluding sentence.

Thursday:  Study all word study words.  Children should be able to read words in unit 1-21 automatically and write correctly.
