Newsletter 1/2/14!!

Happy New Year!  I hope you all enjoyed your family time over the break.
Goals for the week:
To review all short vowel sounds.
To  continue practicing addition and subtraction facts and problem solving.
To read and write words with the short vowels.
To read words with l and r blends.
To identify and use descriptive words.
To identify details in a story.
To retell a story.
  Word study words to practice, children should know: , at, cat, sat, bat, fat, as, has, can, an, man, had, van, sad, to, bad, rag, in big, is, did, if, it, his, pack, said, sick, tack, back, kid, cab, of sack, pack. To continue to use capital letters and punctuation in sentences.
To self edit our writing using our writer’s eye.
To listen and respond to On Top of Spaghetti.
To write about our favorite birthday/Christmas gift.
To welcome the New Year by making new year resolutions.
To have fun with the winter season by doing lots of winter activities and writing.
